[Multiple] Practices make perfect

Eat Media is a [content-first] Design, Development and Ideation agency. We are founded on the principle that brands are stories and mediums do not define the message. We are a team of strategic creatives committed to digital, social and print excellence.

How we earned our Aeron chairs

Since 2004, we have developed content-first solutions for software giants, online universities, media organizations and healthy startups. We have worked in Advertising, Outsourcing, and E-learning. We’ve been Literary Agents, Directors of Operations and Managing Editors. The experiences we create, and projects we work on are [content-first] because we started our careers as storytellers. We are night owls making magic for the morning web. We are 59 parts inspiration and 41 parts execution. Creative curators allergic to <span> tags, “catch-up meetings” and having .PPTs read in entirety. Give us your brand. Let us tell your story.

Principals

Britta Alexander, partner, has led award-winning print and web projects for online universities, software giants, media companies and funded startups. She has served as managing editor for a family of regional lifestyle publications, and as a NYC literary agent, where she edited the work of bestselling authors. Britta began her career as an advertising copywriter, developing Ad Age-worthy print, television and radio campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. She holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in Writing from Vermont College, and lives in the New York City metro area. When she’s not building content-heavy websites, Britta can be found listening to The Dirty Three Elizabeth Mitchell with her two toddler sons, reminiscing about the day Ric Ocasek told her he liked her violin playing.

Ian Alexander, partner/storyteller, has been strategizing, creating and managing web content long before anyone called anyone a “content strategist.” In his 20-year career, he has worked with technical startups as a product developer, director of operations and director of technical projects. His deep technical knowledge combined with endless creativity makes the impossible possible. (Thanks Montessori!) Ian has spoken on the subject of content strategy (and hip-hop) at a number of conferences including SXSW, the IA Summit, the Custom Content Council, among others. When Ian’s not working, you can find him pointing out the elephant in any room, preaching the gospel of Slint or going to the hole Tiny Archibald style. He, like every other content|design nerd, is working on his second novel.

Team

John Fakorede, design | code, has a crush on WordPress and all of its wonders. He lives in NJ with his wife Anino and his adorable son Darek. He prefers Baroque over Beastie Boys and early Jazz over sunlight.

You, Senior Strategist, This is where all your awesome experience would go.

Rusty, senior programmer, is 1/2 Keith Jarrett, 1/2 CTO and a sneaky 2-guard. When heavy CMS lifting is required, Rusty is the man for the job.

Nina Max Daly, designer and illustrator, has been wielding an x-acto knife for more years than she cares to reveal. She’s done work for regular people, small indie shops, old-school design firms and major cable TV networks. When she’s not designing pretty things, Nina can be found baking cakes, hunting mushrooms and hocking her wares on Etsy.
