How we earned our Aeron chairs

We have worked in Advertising, IT, and E-learning. We've been Literary Agents, Directors of Operations and Managing Editors. We know how to manage writers and creatives because we’ve been in their shoes, mostly during ungodly hours of the night in the company of frazzled designers, programmers and cold Chinese food.

Principals

Britta Alexander has over 10 years of experience as a professional writer and editor. She has served as managing editor for a family of regional lifestyle publications, and worked in New York City as a literary agent, where she edited the work of bestselling authors. Britta began her career as an advertising copywriter, developing print, television and radio campaigns for Fortune 500 companies. She holds a Master’s of Fine Arts in Writing from Vermont College, and divides her time between Sarasota and New York. When she’s not writing, Britta can be found listening to The Dirty Three and reminiscing about the day Ric Ocasek told her he liked her violin playing.

Ian Alexander has held fancy titles like Director of Technology Projects and Director of Operations before moving back to his real love, writing. Ian was creating, managing and strategizing content for publishers, retailers, startups, Fortune 500 companies and pharma long before he knew what "content strategy" was. When Ian's not working, you can find him pointing out the elephant in any room, preaching the gospel of Slint or going to the hole Tiny Archibald style. He, like every other Content Strategist, is working on his second novel.

Team

Heather Field is that ever elusive creature. Tactical problem solver. Assassin-like copyeditor. Front and back-end programmer. She has been in the Eat Media family since she was a zygote and we aren't letting her go for nothing. No, not even for an iPad.

Wendy Joan Biddlecombe is a young professional looking forward to spending every day until her last telling stories. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Writing (Journalism) from The New School, and never leaves home without her Zoom H2 Handy recorder (really.) A meticulous editor by day, Wendy spends her nights and weekends turning herself into a Renaissance woman. Current interests include knitting, yoga headstands, riding her longboard, and pickling every vegetable (and some fruits) under the sun. A Buffalo, New York, native Wendy has lived in New York City, India and France. She now resides in a turquoise and purple cottage in downtown Sarasota.

Lindsay Downey started her career as a features editor for a daily paper. She earned a journalism degree from University of Florida and worked as an editor for an educational publishing house and numerous magazines. When she's not pouring over style guides and content strategy blogs, she's catching up on college sports or reading Hunter S. or Susan Jane Gilman.

Russ G. is 1/2 Keith Jarrett, 1/2 CTO and a sneaky 2 guard.

Joey Brannon is our virtual CFO, business mentor and whip-snapper. A licensed CPA, P.A and principal of Axiom, Joey has been with Eat Media since day one and there isn't a day that goes by we don't marvel at his insight. An entrepreneur at heart, Joey understands the struggles, frustrations, joy and accomplishment that come from running a business focused on serving others. If you don't work with him something is wrong with you, seriously.
